How Many People Should I Include to Be Successful in My Activities (04/30/2012) ... Why was this important? Because the sales force determined where products would be printed. As the plant's culture began to shift, the sales force became nervous because things were done differently in the team-based plant. Consequently, the sales force was reluctant to assign product to this plant. Excluding the sales force's voice in the transformation had unintended negative consequences for the plant.
As a general rule, the number of people to include depends on five key questions:
How much energy do you want to create?
How large is the scope of the task?
How much time is available?
How many people are needed to keep other organizational functions running?
How much money can you spend?
If you want to create a lot of energy, larger groups are the most effective....

The 80/20 destination for Helen and James is to leave the firm and start a family. Helen will retire....
What do super successful people do differently (04/27/2012) ...
Enjoyment, not effort or education, is the key to success. Hurrah! Picture millions slaving on the educational treadmill. Or working in dark Satanic towers for pinch-mouthed bosses and mean-spirited corporations. Could they all be barking up the wrong tree?
If that’s you, rejoice! Throw off your chains. Find something you love doing....
How To Find A Career Path That Fits (04/24/2012) .....
Step 1: Embracing The Process
I know it's uncomfortable to not know what you want to do with your life - or what to do next. I've been there. Naturally, you want to have it all figured out as soon as possible....
How to Become a Sales Expert (04/21/2012) ... But make the customer the focus. Start by looking at what you do almost effortlessly, well enough to take it for granted. You are probably unconsciously competent about it. Maybe it is how to influence others. Step back and look at what you do that allows you to be so effective....
Successful Winning Proposals (04/10/2012) ... Get someone who is a great proofreader to read over your proposal. A good but time-consuming way to pick up typos is to have someone read it backward. That ensures that someone will not skip over a word that is misspelled by reading too quickly.
Organize the proposal in a way that is easy to follow. Include an executive overview that is no longer than one page....
Take Charge of your Personal Development (03/05/2012) ... You have to believe that success can be yours or you will never succeed. You have to believe you are deserving of everything you want or you will never have it. This is a difficult thing to change but you can. You have to train yourself to believe in yourself. The next item can contribute to that change....
What Is a Success Story and How To Write It (02/05/2012) ... It can be distributed in print, as PDFs, in the company newsletter, it also can be posted on the Web site, distributed at conferences, packaged and tailored to particular audiences for customer meetings, and sent in direct mail packages.
Why to write success stories?
To give your readers an example of real successful project. Examples will help to understand difficult concepts and complex business issues. And solutions that can solve the issues.
To generate empathy to enable readers to empathize with the challenge that you faced in the success story, in case your readers face a similar problem....
Mastering Your Mind Power: You Must Persist To Succeed (01/30/2012) ... Soon you become what the world calls a quitter. A QUITTER NEVERS AND A WINNER NEVER QUITS!
This age of mass advertising wherein the YOU NEED INSTANT GRATIFICATION message is so consistently embedded has convinced too many of us that if we can not obtain what we desire in a few days, a few weeks, a few months at most, we quickly turn our attention to other pursuits.
At times it seems that life plays tricks on us. It places desires in our hearts and minds but also places obstructions between us and our desires. Instead of our persistently focusing on our desires and figuring ways around, over, or through the obstructions, most of us persistently focus on the obstructions....
Mastering Your Mind Power: Training Your Imagination, Part 3 (01/16/2012) ...
To stop creating and attracting things and conditions into your life that you do not want is going to require some effort on your part, but YOU CAN DO IT! You have as much mind power as anyone who ever lived. Be ever aware of that fact. Keep your imagination filled with what you desire.
Life offers no do overs. If I had the power to do so, I would decree that every person who now lives and all those who will live in the future must focus on having their lives filled with things and conditions they desire from beginning to end....
Mastering Your Mind Power: Training Your Imagination, Part 2 (01/16/2012) ... Since most of the beliefs that make up your self image are out of range of conscious recall, is it any wonder that you and so many of us feel almost helpless when it comes to bringing conscious change into our lives?
Your imagination holds the key with which you can unlock the chains of negative automatic beliefs and negative automatic reactions to your daily experiences that have been forged by your self image. You must help your imagination, however, by training it to accept images, thoughts, and emotions that are in harmony with what you desire to experience. The process is simple and easy, but I must warn you that anything that is easy to do is also easy not to do.
You must first establish a definite major goal (or goals). Definiteness cannot be overstated....
How Devilsh Is The Prada Devil (12/29/2011) ...
The devilish Miranda Priestly is horribly portrayed: the everlasting successful bitch which is never happy and never satisfied. Everybody admires her for the success and the fame she has, but nobody wants to be around her to stand all her moods.
After seeing the movie you realize that the devil is not that black. The book made you hate Miranda while the movie puts her in a different light. Would you like to see one of your subordinates while you argue with your boyfriend or your husband? Would you like to be treated as a piece of nothing by the one you love most? Even if when you are deadly tired, do you still think of your children? Do you appreciate the well done job and like to have around people whom you can trust?
Well, that’s Miranda Priestly, the devil who wears Prada!
Going back to the novel and reading it again, the horrible manager still does not look like a priest, but she is not the wicked per! son we s aw her at first....
Career: Considering Making a Change (12/25/2011) ... Then compare them with those that are practised, not preached. When you consider moving to a new job, you need to find out how that organization measures up to your expectations.
What special skills and talents do I have? Keep an inventory of your talents and skills. Make a list of all the courses you have been to and how you may have applied the skills you were taught. Have you special skills that are not commonplace in the market? Think about the type of organization that might bend over backwards to have someone like you work for them....
How to find local jobs (12/21/2011) ...
3: Focus on what you like at work, not on what you hate.
Many people switch jobs to get away from a bad situation. However, when you’re picking a new job, it’s not enough to look at all the things you want to avoid. Partly because there are an infinite number of things to avoid. But mostly because even if you avoid every single bad thing, that can only guarantee that you won’t be unhappy....
Influencing Senior Management (12/20/2011) ... Prepare effective responses to any resistance. Rehearse your presentation with an associate, if possible. Have written documentation to support key aspects of your proposal.
Collect ideas from those to whom you will be selling your idea. Incorporate these ideas into your pitch....
The Truth About Failures (12/06/2011) ... With experience comes wisdom, character and strength. You must know failure in order to recognize success.
Failure doesn't mean you are a failure,it does mean you haven't succeeded yet.
Failure doesn't mean you have accomplished nothing,it does mean you have learned something.
Failure doesn't mean you have been a fool,it does mean you had a lot of faith....
Career: Getting Ahead in Your Organization (12/04/2011) ... Put extra effort in if a project is late. Be seen to be helpful. Help during emergencies.
Make your boss look good. You will be valued and appreciated....
Matching the Plan to Goals (09/23/2011) ... Even if you believe in reincarnation (my views seem to change as I get older), you only have limited chances in this life to achieve your overall personal goal.
Professional or Career Goals
What do team members want out of their careers? This may or may not be tied to the jobs they are currently doing and the company by which they are currently employed. Somewhere in their minds, maybe from a seed generated back in elementary or high school, they have a goal of what they’ve imagined they could be someday. It may be to write a great adventure novel or to open a charter fishing boat service in the Caribbean. Whatever it is, they will either be happy that their present activity supports growth in that direction or frustrated that it presents so many obstacles....
Aligning With Real and Realistic (09/13/2011) ... We’re going to treat people with consideration. We’re going to respect confidences. We’re going to keep our word. We’re going to act in ways that reflect our concern for the well-being of others. And generally, the results we get will be high trust relationships that will weather life’s storms....
How Do You See Your Work (09/13/2011) ...
An old story from Italy tells of a priest who comes up to three stonecutters working in the hot afternoon sun. The priest asks the first, "My son, what are you doing?"
The man replies, "I am cutting stone."
The priest then asks the second man, "What are you doing?"
The stonecutter replies, "I’m making 100 lira a day."
Finally, he asks the third stonecutter the same question.
This worker replies, "I am building a beautiful cathedral....
